St Magnus Planter Dedication
A small ceremony to dedicate the lead planter donated to our company church St Magnus the Martyr was held on Thursday 1 June 2021. The planter was cast at the Plumbers Museum Workshop Trust (PMWT) at Amberley to thank our company chaplain, Father Philip Warner, for all he does to support us.
The PMWT has a fine tradition of producing beautifully cast lead planters, which can be found at Buckingham Palace, Sandringham House, the Tower of London and in many Liverymen’s gardens after our 650th anniversary in 2015.
The dedication for this latest one was much delayed and had to be limited in numbers because of the pandemic, but the Master, Dr Peter Rumley, Renter Warden, Air Cdre Paul Nash, Clerk, Adrian Mumford, Past Steward and Church Warden Michael Cooper, together with Liverymen Peter Cheesman and Eddie McCourt who cast the planter, were able to join Father Philip for the dedication on a warm summer’s day at the church.
