Plumbers’ Golfers Win Again!

Heartiest congratulations to the Worshipful Company of Plumbers team for winning the Tallow Chandlers’ Newson-Smith Cup golf day, with a team score of 93 points.

The Tallow Chandlers and The Turners were not far behind with 91 points each.

Tony Walters of the Plumbers secured the top individual place with 41 points. Asked by your reporter what the key to his success was, Tony replied: “Having fun!”

This was a new event for us Plumbers, but the Newson-Smith Cup has been competed for since 1936.

The event was very well organised by Peter Cormack of The Tallow Chandlers, and held at the excellent Drift Golf Club near Wisley, close to Junction 10 of the M25.

We look forward to defending our title in 2024!
