Plumbers’ Golf Society complete 18 holes – at last!
With the whole Livery golf programme cancelled until now, the Plumbers finally managed 18 holes at Wildernesse Golf Club, near Sevenoaks in Kent.
On the first day that the club re-opened for visitors, we were delighted to enjoy a fun round of golf at the lovely Wildernesse Golf Club. On a warm but overcast day, seven members met for a very sociable round followed by lunch.
Wildernesse Golf Club, celebrating its 130th anniversary, looked after us splendidly, as they do every year and we will return next September. We very much hope that a full programme of golf will be possible in 2021 and already have two provisional dates in the diary.
Sadly we also said farewell to our secretary, Liveryman Mike Munro, who is moving to Scotland, but we hope to see him as a guest with his father, Liveryman Don Munro, who completed all 18 holes at the fine age of 88.
On a positive note, David Hannam agreed to become our new secretary and Tony Peters will be our new treasurer, taking over from Don Munro. Paul Nash is our Chairman. A huge thank you to Don and Mike for all they have done for Plumbers’ golf. It is a very active (except for 2020!) and sociable society and welcomes players of every ability.
