L to R: Jools Holland OBE, The Very Reverend Andrew Tremlett, Maggie Dawn, Dr Peter Rumley, and Bridget Rumley.

This great fun event on Thursday, 13th October, 2022 was to welcome the new Dean of St Paul’s Cathedral, The Very Revered Andrew Tremlett, and Jools made history with it being the first concert of that kind ever allowed to be performed at the Cathedral.

Sarah Beddows, City and Music Giving Manager at St Paul’s gave thanks to Dr Peter Rumley on behalf of the Cathedral: “Needless to say Jools was fantastic – he is an incredible talent and provided wonderful entertainment for the evening. He did such a good job of tailoring his chat around St Paul’s and our music – our acting organist was thrilled to be woven in to his script! The singers were equally fabulous and it was so lovely to have the chance beforehand to spend some time with them and you at Evensong. Thank you for the wonderful introduction you gave to Jools – that was a perfect scene setter for his performance and you did such a marvellous job of working the room with the Q and A session. Having Jools as our star attraction was simply amazing, it really was an unforgettable and fun evening for us and our guests and it simply wouldn’t have happened without you … the evening did much to showcase our music and our funding news and undoubtedly more will flow from this. Thank you for everything you have done to support us – it’s been an absolute joy and privilege to work with you on the project.”
