Military Affiliations
The Worshipful Company of Plumbers is proud of its affiliations with various military units. These encompass our regular military engineering training establishments, and the three single service cadet organisations.
These affiliations are supported by The Plumbers Charity, whose aims and objectives as a charitable and educational trust provide recognition and reward to the trainee apprentices completing their military training and support to young cadets across London.

Service Cadet Affiliations
Our affiliations with the service cadet organisations provide financial support to them from our charity to help the cadets in their activities and for specific projects. In return we ask them to provide a guard of honour at two of our formal functions in the City of London.
Sea Cadets
Our affiliation with the Richmond Sea Cadet unit has run for many years and was set up in the 1980’s. It has a great history, having been in existence for over 100 years; it was formed in 1916. In return, we ask them to provide the guard of honour at our Annual Banquet in the Mansion House held is March or April each year.
Army Cadets
Our contact with the Army cadets began in late 2023 when we started our affiliation with 23 Cadet Detachment (Royal Engineers) based in Islington, North London. This vibrant cadet unit is under new leadership and is growing from strength to strength. In return for the support we are giving them, they will be providing the guard of honour at our summer festival each year, where we will also present the annual best cadet award.
Air Cadets
Our affiliation with the Air cadets also began in late 2023 with No 1147 Air Cadet Squadron in Barking, East London. This is another vibrant cadet unit under new leadership with a significant number of new members and still growing. In return for the support we are giving them, they will be providing the guard of honour at our summer festival each year, along with the Army cadets, where we will also present the annual best cadet award.
