It is with great sadness we have to announce the death of Liveryman Terry Fillary. He suffered a heart attack and passed away on the morning of Tuesday 23 February 2021. Terry will be remembered for his outstanding lead crafting skills, for which he was awarded the MBE in the 2014 New Year’s Honours List.  We have lost another legend of the Livery. Our thoughts and condolences go to his widow Betty and all the family.

I am most grateful to Past Steward John Carnaby for his significant contribution to this tribute, to Past Master Rodney Cartwright for some of the images and to London Walking Tours for its permission to reproduce its fine article and images of David’s Old London Bridge model.

Liveryman Peter Hunt

It is with much sadness that we have learnt of the death of Liveryman Peter Hunt on Christmas Eve. Peter was 84 years old and had been suffering from cancer for a long time. He was a member for 30 years and last attended the Ladle Dinner in 2019. We sent our thoughts and condolences to his family.

Past Steward David Aggett

It is with great sadness we have to announce the death of Past Steward David Aggett at the age of 91. David joined the company in 1983 and served as our second Senior Steward in 1985. We send our thoughts and condolences to his whole family. Although he resigned from the company in 2019 for health reasons, his legacy will remain with us for two outstanding reasons.

Past Master Charles Smith RP

It is with great sadness that we have to advise of the death of Past Master Charles Smith on 29th December. He had a fall on 13th December and fractured his hip, followed by replacement surgery, but did not have the strength to recover. Charles, supported by his wife Beryl, made a huge contribution to the Company; he would have been a Liveryman for 50 years in 2021 and was Master in 1996/97. Our thoughts and condolences are with Beryl, son and Liveryman Colin, and all the family.
