Sadly, even the scaled-back televised Lord Mayor’s show from the Guildhall Yard has now had to be cancelled due to Covid-19.

Lord Mayor and Sheriffs to serve for an extra year

The Lord Mayor, Alderman William Russell and Sheriffs, Alderman Professor Michael Mainelli and Christopher Hayward, will serve an additional year because of the impact of the coronavirus outbreak. Arrangements for the re-election of the Lord Mayor will be published in due course. Subject to confirmation, it is thought that the Sheriffs can be extended in office and that the election on 24 June will be cancelled.  Full details are given in their press release.
