Liveryman John Collier
It is with great sadness that we have learnt of the death of Liveryman John Collier, who passed away after a short and sudden illness, on 16th January 2024. John was Chairman of Monument Tools Ltd, the 4th generation of his family to be involved in the business.
Monument Tools is a huge supporter of the Worshipful Company of Plumbers, and has been the managing company and sole sponsor of our Bursary Scheme for plumbing apprentices for a number of years, alongside CIPHE. In that time, and under their active support, the scheme has grown enormously and now attracts nearly 200 applications a year, across the nation, for one of our coveted awards. Each successful award winner receives £1,000 worth of tools , supplied by Monument Tools, to further their career.
John Collier will be greatly missed.
Our thoughts and deepest condolences go to his widow Susannah, his son Jonathan, and all his family. Jonathan took over from John as Managing Director of Monument Tools in 2010, and maintains the family links as the 5th generation member.
There will be a private funeral service for family members. A public memorial service will be held to celebrate his life; date and location to be advised.
