Harvey Nics provided a brilliant afternoon…
…and a boyish make-over for the Master:
Report from a fashionably-attired Nick Jones:
On arrival in the bar on the fifth floor of Harvey Nichols, at 11 am, guests received a chilled glass of champagne together with a variety of canapés.
Following introductions and comparison of our fashionable smart casual outfits, we listened carefully to Gaynor Russell, our experienced Private Shopper and lead host. She introduced us to Fergus, Private Shopper for the men, and Camilla an expert on lingerie. After an intriguing and educational discussion, which provided a range of ideas and inspirations on enhancing a wardrobe, we split up. The five men went with Fergus, and the sixteen women went with Gaynor on a tour of relevant parts of the store.
The women looked at various fashion brands, from contemporary to classic designs, including a range of well-known names. For the men, demographics was a key consideration. The very special jeans priced at £4,000 a pair and quickly purchased by Chelsea footballers [do we have photos of them? Webmaster asking] were dismissed, but a variety of more suitable ideas were welcomed.
We got back together at 1pm to have a wonderful lunch on the Harvey Nichols Brasserie terrace, a famous fashionable London landmark. The sun shone as we enjoyed an excellent lunch in good company:
The Harvey Nichols team impressed us with their knowledge and customer service. Everybody thoroughly enjoyed themselves and left with some ideas of how to look better and improve their wardrobe.
