Summer Festival 2022

The evening will commence at 6.30 pm with a Champagne reception on the terrace (weather permitting) and the opportunity to have your photograph taken with your guests before dinner. Carriages will be at 10:30pm

We are guests of the Barber-Surgeons’ Company, which traces its origins to 1308, and ranks 17^th in the orderof precedence. The Company has had a Hall on the edge of the City, in the area of the north-west corner of the Roman Fort of London, since the 1440’s. The current Hall, opened in 1969 by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, is at 1A Monkwell Square in the Barbican, post code EC2Y 5BL. The nearest tube station is Moorgate.

We are delighted that our principal guest and speaker Jevan Nagarajah who achieved a first class maths degree from Imperial College London is a young, successful entrepreneur and a leader in revolutionising the production of the food we eat every day. To date he has raised $24m from investors to support his company, Better Dairy, in producing dairy products through the laboratory and manufacture. This revolution, reducing the need for cows, will make a major contribution to sustainability using far less water and cutting methane in the atmosphere. Jevan will tell us about the future of food, the challenges he has overcome and the road to success and sustainability. Brazilian-themed music will be provided by vocalist Lotte Betts-Dean and guitarist Dimitris Soukaras.

The cost of a ticket will be £115 a head. Dress: Black Tie (Dinner Jacket).
