Summer Festival
The Master, Dame Fiona Woolf and her consort, Nicholas, invite you to join them for our Summer Festival. The event will be held in the Stationers’ Hall on Tuesday 9th July 2019 at 6.30 for 7.00 pm.
We are delighted that our principal guest and speaker will be Patrick Jenkins, financial editor of the Financial Times who oversees the iconic City newspaper’s coverage of financial services.
The evening will commence at 6.30 pm with drinks and a reception in the beautiful gardens of the hall (weather permitting). The first Hall of the Worshipful Company of Stationers and Newspaper Makers was destroyed in the Great Fire of London being replaced by the current building circa 1670. It was remodelled in 1800 and is Grade I listed. Restored after damage caused by enemy action in 1940, the Hall today is one of the most beautiful in the City. The speaker, Patrick Jenkins, the financial editor of the Financial Times oversees the FT’s coverage of financial services. He writes a weekly column on the sector, edits a weekly diary, hosts a weekly banking podcast and is very much a City Insider. At a time when journalism is under scrutiny, he will speak about the role of the journalist today and ‘fake news’. This is always an evening of fun and fellowship to which all Liverymen, their wives, partners and guests will be given a hearty welcome.
Do not miss the Plumbers’ Company Summer Festival – press the book now button below or at the side of the page to attend and follow the prompts. Dress: Black Tie (Dinner Jacket).
The Stationers’ Hall is located in Ave Maria Lane, close to St Paul’s Cathedral (post code is EC4M 7DD) and St Paul’s is the nearest tube station. The cost of a ticket is £105 a head. I look forward to seeing you there.
