St Michael’s Day Service 2024 & Sheep Drive & Livery Fair

11:00 Sunday 29th September 2024.

Our annual Service of Veneration to the Patron Saint of the Company, St Michael the Archangel will take place at 11am at St Magnus-the-Martyr Church, Lower Thames Street, EC3R 6DN on Sunday, 29th September, followed by a reception.

As ever, there will be fine music and the preacher will be our own Company Chaplain, Cardinal Rector the Reverend Father Philip Warner.

Following the Service, our Company Chaplain has invited us all to join him and the congregation for ‘drinks and nibbles’.

After the service and reception, you can see the annual Sheep Drive and Livery Fair on Southwark Bridge, an annual charity event organised by the Worshipful Company of Woolmen.

It is a well-known benefit of Freedom of the City of London that Freemen allows the driving of one’s sheep over London Bridge, now moved to Southwark Bridge, and once a year it can be done!

This Sunday, the Master will be driving sheep over Southwark Bridge at 15.07 (in Group 83 and from ‘Station B’).

All are welcome to watch this great tradition of the City of London.

There is no need to advise ahead if you plan to attend.
