Court Lunch – January 2025
On Wednesday, 22nd January 2025, the Master and Wardens and Court of Assistants invite you to join them for lunch in the magnificent surroundings of Saddlers’ Hall.

At the meeting of the Court and the lunch, we will be welcoming at least 3 new Liverymen and their partners, all joining us for lunch, and Debbie Abergil will be sworn-in as Clerk.
The Speaker will be Murray Craig, retired Clerk of the Chamberlain’s Court in the City of London after 25 years. He is only the 37th Clerk since 1294. It is a unique post involving conducting the Freedom Ceremony, and over the years has admitted everyone from Luciano Pavarotti, JK Rowling, Archduke Otto von Habsburg, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Prince Edward and many others. Murray was the conduit between the (then) 110 Livery Companies and the Court of Aldermen, advising and guiding on Charters, Ordinances and protocol. He is an expert on Livery Companies, their history, traditions and modern role. Murray is also a qualified City of London Guide and well known as an after-dinner speaker in the City.
