Caribbean Carnival – Social Function

18:30 Thursday 17th February 2022.

The Master and his Consort have exclusive use of the October Gallery and are delighted to invite you to an exciting event including

  • A reception with Caribbean Cocktails and Canapes
  • A sumptuous selection of Caribbean food and drink
  • Presentation on the history and culture of Carnival
  • Caribbean Carnival musical entertainment

A personal invitation from our Master, Nick Jones:

“One of my objectives in my year as Master is to provide an insight into a range of different cultures. With this in mind my Consort and I invite you to celebrate the Caribbean carnival in style. An opportunity to enjoy excellent Caribbean food, drink and cocktails accompanied by musical entertainment. As Spring approaches this is a great chance to bring some joy and sunshine onto the scene.

The October Gallery, located close to Russell Square, is a long established art gallery renowned for exhibiting contemporary, international, avant-garde work. We have exclusive use of the gallery so that we will have extensive space for the evening including a lovely outdoor, covered terrace.

We will be serving Caribbean canapes and cocktails on arrival followed by a range of Caribbean dishes including Goat Curry, Jerk Chicken and rice and peas. The wine will be from South America which is close to the Caribbean!

Our musical entertainment will be provided by Linett Kamala, a lifelong Carnivalist. After 16 years of successful leadership in schools Linett decided to dedicate her time to her creative work including Carnival Arts Culture. She is a Director of Notting Hill Carnival and was one of the first female DJs to perform there.

Linett will be providing a presentation on the culture of Carnival and playing Caribbean and Carnival music through the evening.”

All of this is available at an attractive price of £65 per head.
