Annual Banquet – 21 March 2022
After a two year gap, the Master, Nick Jones and Wardens are overjoyed to invite you to join them for our Annual Banquet at the Mansion House, held in the glorious surroundings of the Egyptian Hall by kind permission of the Lord Mayor.
We are delighted that our principal guest and speaker for the evening will be Yewande Akinola MBE a Chartered Engineer, awarded an MBE at 35 in the Queen’s 2020 New Year Honours list for services to Engineering Innovation and Diversity in STEM. Yewande was named as one of the UK’s top women under the age of 35 by Management Today and as one of the UK & Europe’s most influential women in Engineering by the Financial Times. In recent years she has organised the Big Engineering Work Experience Week a global online programme attended by hundreds of young engineers hungry for success. Yewande will be speaking about diversity, determination and courage. We also look forward to hearing from the Lord Mayor Locum Tenens who will be Dr Sir Andrew Parmley.
As ever, the London Banqueting Ensemble will be entertaining us during the reception and dinner while our affiliated unit, Richmond Sea Cadets, will provide a fine Carpet Guard.
The Banquet is the highlight of the Company’s year; a truly spectacular venue, with the chance to dine with family, friends and business associates at the Lord Mayor’s official residence. The evening will start with a Champagne reception and the opportunity to have your photograph taken with your guests before dinner. Those who have attended previous banquets will know what a special event this is, with a mixture of formality and the warmth of our very convivial Company.
This is an ideal opportunity to introduce potential new Liverymen, holders or former holders of public or civic office, and professional or business colleagues. You are also encouraged to bring your partners and adult family members as guests.
Dress for men is White Tie or Mess Dress with decorations and long gowns for ladies. The event starts at 6.30pm for 7:00pm, with carriages at 10:30pm. Pour mémoire cards will be sent before the event and these must be shown on entry to Mansion House.
Thanks to generous support from our Corporate Members we are able to offer places at the remarkable value of just £108 (£90.00 + £18.00 VAT).
Please make your application through the website no later than noon, Friday 11th March 2022.
I look forward to seeing you there.
