Eddie’s Excellence Extolled
At the Court Installation Lunch, held on 16th October, our new Master Charles Brooks presented an Excellence Award to recognise the significant contribution of Amberley Demonstrator Eddie McCourt. #PMWT

The Master read out the Citation and presented Eddie with a magnificent scroll and Lead shield in a frame which was created by his fellow demonstrators at Amberley. The Citation reads as follows:-
Eddie was introduced to the Plumbing Workshop at Amberley by Peter Cheesman where, following retirement, he started to volunteer.
Eddie was taught how to work with Lead and became Peter’s ‘apprentice’. He quickly showed great enthusiasm and became one of the main Lead casters and heritage lead workers in the Workshop.
Eddie is always very engaging with the public when they visit the workshop and has been deeply involved in the manufacture of many of the recently produced Lead planters.
Eddie was an integral part of the team producing the Coronation Planters for the King and Queen at Sandringham. This was a most challenging project and Eddie demonstrated true excellence in the skills he had learnt whilst working at the Workshop. His participation was essential to the successful completion of the project.
Last year Eddie, together with other volunteers from Amberley Museum, was awarded The Kings Award for Voluntary Service.
In 2021 he joined the Company and is so proud to be a Liveryman.
In presenting the Award, the Master said:
The new Mistress and I have seen you in action at our Plumbing Workshop in Amberley. We are the beneficiaries of your guiding us through our first Lead casts and we have seen how engaging you are with visitors.

Eddie was shocked and delighted to receive the presentation, a delightful moment during a thoroughly enjoyable lunch at Vintners Hall.
