Ahla w sahla at Chamisse
On 26th January, we Plumbers received a warm welcome at Chamisse restaurant, where we packed the back room for our first informal social event of the year.
Owner Rabih Moufarej, and his staff, ensured we were treated to a sumptuous evening of exquisite Lebanese food.
Getting us in the mood, our reception started with drinks of Almaza beer, and Château St Thomas 2013 and Chardonay from the Bekaa Valley, before sitting down to a never-ending parade of mezze favourites, such as hommos and tabouleh.
In true Lebanese style, just when we thought we couldn’t eat anymore, the succulent mains arrived of chicken shish taouk and lamb kofta, accompanied by toum (garlic sauce) grilled to juicy perfection:
Finally, mint tea and baklawa finished the meal.
The dinner party was a splendid occasion to meet and chat to other members, and unwind in a very relaxed setting. It was super to see such a good turnout, come and enjoy the excellent food and wine. Chamisse really lived up to its reputation.
Our next informal event is the Plumbers’ Table at Ironmongers’ Hall on Monday, 13th February, followed by the Visit to the Supreme Court & Lunch on Thursday, 2nd March. I look forward to seeing you there. Until then, salamat!
