The Recorder of London, His Honour Judge Nicholas Hilliard QC, also Master of the Feltmakers, is holding a fund-raising event at the Old Bailey on Thursday, July 26, 2018, from 6-8.30pm in aid of the Sheriffs' and Recorder's Fund. There will be a champagne reception with canapes, tours of the Old Bailey and a chance to see the newly refurbished number 1 court. Tickets for the event are £35, but you are asked to make a minimum donation to the Sheriffs' and Recorder's Fund of £35 per ticket as well. The Feltmakers’ Company are acting as the coordinators for this event (nothing else), on behalf of the Sheriffs’ & Recorder’s Fund, and do so with the full permission of its Chairman and Trustees. The dress is lounge suits and equivalent for the women.

SAVE THE DATE VISIT TO AMBERLEY MUSEUM & HERITAGE CENTRE SUNDAY 7 OCTOBER 2018
For many years, there has been a demonstration facility for traditional leadwork at the Weald and Downland Museum in Singleton. This facility has recently been relocated to the Amberley Museum & Heritage Centre, near Arundel. (amberleymuseum.co.uk)
The Trustees of the Plumbers’ Museum and Workshop Trust have requested that a Master’s Day be arranged at Amberley to enable Liverymen and their families and friends to see the new workshop in operation.
This is to provide advance notice that the Master’s Day visit to Amberley has been arranged to take place on Sunday 7 October. That day there will also be an Autumn Historic Transport Gathering at the Museum. Further details of the visit will be circulated nearer the time but in the meantime, Liverymen are encouraged to put the date in their diaries- the visit should be of interest to all ages and children and grandchildren will be welcomed.
Lest you hadn't heard, this year’s City Beerfest, in aid of the Lord Mayor’s Appeal and the City Music Foundation, is taking place in the Guildhall Yard on Thursday 5 July between 1230 and 2100. Fifteen of our member breweries will be there providing the finest beers for your enjoyment. The Brewers Company would be delighted if you, your Master and as many Liveryman as possible would come along to enjoy the great beer, good food and live music. The Lord Mayor will be addressing the guests at 1730.

To mark the 100th anniversary of the formation of the Royal Air Force on 1st April 1918, the Westminster Guides will be leading guided walks in the City of Westminster this summer. There are many connections between Westminster and the RAF, including the original headquarters on The Strand; statues of key figures in the history of the RAF; monuments to significant events; memorials to people, organisations and nations. There are many stories to tell about the men and women of the service and their links with Westminster. Click here for walk details.
On Wednesday 13th June 2018, I abseiled down Twentytwo, at 22 Bishopsgate, a brand new skyscraper currently under construction in the heart of the City and set to become the tallest building in the Square Mile at 62 storeys and 972ft when complete. And, in September I will abseiling down the Leadenhall Building, more popularly known as the Cheesegrater.
