The objectives of the Charitable and Educational Trust are threefold:

1. To support appropriate educational activities in plumbing, water supply and various related direct interests.
2. To assist charitable activities which are principally related to plumbing.
3. To endeavour to support City activities which are considered appropriate to the interests and aims of the Company.
   As its name implies, the Trust is greatly concerned with education at all levels. In furtherance of its aims the Trust gives financial support to a primary school in the borough of Tower Hamlets, adjacent to the City but nevertheless one of the most deprived areas of London. The Trust has contributed to the costs of the Alliance Big Book, an introductory publication about plumbing that has been distributed widely in primary schools.

The Trust is keen to encourage plumbing students to advance as far as they are able. It grants a number of bursaries to students who need financial assistance in order to fulfil their wish of progressing from NVQ2 to NVQ3,

Continuing personal development is regarded as an important facet of education.

The Company has supported Voluntary Services Overseas for some years. This year the Trust is sponsoring a plumber on Voluntary Service Overseas. He is teaching vital plumbing skills to students in the Gambia.

If required, the Trust gives support, to the Company's Technical Lecture, at which distinguished speakers address issues of concern to the Plumbing Industry.
